The Mars Hill Lions Fall Prey to the Young Harris College Mountain Lions, 66-55

The Mountain Lions, led by Cole Deptula's 24-point performance took care of business against the Lions from Mars Hill University on Saturday (Dec. 2) afternoon at Stanford Arena.

Young Harris improved to 3-3 as they continued their three-game winning streak, and Mars Hill fell to 1-5. The Mountain Lions return to action at 6 PM next Saturday (Dec. 9) against Columbus State at The Harp Recreation and Commencement Center in Young Harris, GA with the YHC Athletics Hall of Fame ceremony commencing at halftime.


  • First year Mountain Lion Cole Deptula scored 24 points, grabbed six boards, and recorded two steals in the victory.

  • Morgan Rashed logged the most minutes for Young Harris with 33 and scored 13 points.

  • Rajuan Conner led Mars Hill with 13 points and 14 rebounds in their losing effort.

  • YHC shot 47.9% (23-48), while MHU shot just 37.3% (19-51) from the field.

  • Carl Cleveland recorded three assists and added seven points of his own.

  • Mars Hill shot just 16% (4-25) from beyond the arc, while Young Harris shot 45.5% (10-22) from downtown.
