Young Harris took on the King University Tornado in round one of the Conference Carolinas Tournament on Sunday (Mar. 3) evening. YHC was outscored by KU, 40 to 30, after a lackluster first half, in which they shot just 32.14% from the field. The Mountain Lions turned it around in the second half, outscoring King University 49 to 47, but it was eventually too late, and Young Harris fell 87 to 79.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
Karl Chavis and Carl Cleveland each had big games, with Chavis scoring 23 points and recording four assists; while Cleveland recorded another double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds.
Mikhail Pocknett was the leading scorer for the Tornado, with 23 points and 12 rebounds.
Overall, YHC was outshot by KU, 44.4% to 40% from the field.
King outrebounded Young Harris, 41 to 36.
The game included four lead changes, with the score being tied twice.
