The Towns County Student Advisory Board met with Sheriff’s Office staff Thursday for breakfast at Daniel’s.

The Advisory Board consists of students from both Towns County High School and Young Harris College and was created in an effort to strengthen communication and interaction between the Sheriff’s office and Towns County youth.

It was a productive meeting with discussion about drugs and their effect on our youth and community. Each student offered ideas for interactions with the Sheriff’s Office, such as events for the Sheriff’s Office and students to work together.

Another meeting will be held after the end of the school year to begin planning.

Sheriff Ken Henderson and his staff would like to congratulate the Seniors on the Board, Macy Brinson, Collin Crowder and Bazya Smith, as well as the entire Towns County High School Senior Class on their upcoming graduation.
