The University of Georgia's Athletics Board has approved contract extensions for both Josh Brooks, the J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics, and Kirby Smart, the head football coach.
Coach Smart's annual salary will increase to $13 million, making him the highest-paid coach in college football, with his term extending to December 31, 2033. Brooks' term has been extended by one year with his salary increasing to $1,275,000, with additional increments yearly.
Both contracts include performance-based incentives. UGA President Jere W. Morehead commended Smart's success and Brooks' contributions to the athletic department, highlighting their commitment to the university. Brooks and Smart expressed gratitude for the trust and support from the administration and pledged to continue their dedication to UGA.
