For the second week in a row, Jacket Nation filed into Frank R. Long Memorial Stadium to cheer on Hayesville's varsity football team. The Yellow Jackets hosted the Blue Knights from Georgia Force Christian from Sugar Hill, GA. After falling behind, Hayesville came swarming back to get the 21-14 victory.
The visiting team made themselves right at home in Hayesville by jumping on the scoreboard early and shutting down the Jackets' offense to hold a 7-0 lead after the opening quarter. In the second quarter, the Force extended their lead with another touchdown and Hayesville found themselves down 14-0 as they headed into the locker room at halftime.
Luckily, the game was a tale of two halves. Head coach Chad McClure had the Jackets ready to play when they hit the field for the third quarter. In that stanza, Hayesville busted through the goal line twice for a pair of touchdowns to tie things up 14-14.
With the game on the line and encouraged by a vocal cheering section, the Yellow Jackets did everything they needed to do in order to defend their home turf. Hayesville pulled ahead 21-14 with a fourth-quarter score. The Yellow Jacket defense came up big, stopping the Force and securing the victory.
