Yellow Jackets Return To Win Column With Lopsided Victory

On Friday, Sept. 15, the Hayesville Yellow Jackets welcomed New Faith Christian Academy for the inaugural meeting between the teams. Coming off a loss to Pisgah, the Jackets were looking to get back in the win column.

First Quarter

Isaac Chandler nails a 44-yard field goal, unofficial school record, to put Hayesville up 35-0 as time runs out in the second quarter.

Third Quarter

Michael Mauney snares a pass for a 25-yard touchdown with 8:48 left in the quarter. Chandler's kick was good. Hayesville 42 New Faith 0.

Slade Crouch runs for an 11-yard touchdown with 2:30 left in the quarter. Chandler's PAT was good. Hayesville 49 New Faith 0.

Fourth Quarter

Cole Vinning breaks free for a 32 yard Yellow Jacket touchdown with 9 minutes left to play. Chandler's kick was good. Hayesville 56 New Faith 0.

With 1 minute to play, New Faith scored on an 11-yard run. The 2-point conversion was no quarter.

The clock ran out , giving the Yellow Jackets the 56-6 victory. Hayesville will now enjoy a bye week as they prepare to open conference play against Murphy on Sept. 29.
