YHC Falls Short to UVA Wise

The Mountain Lions took on the UVA Wise Cavaliers on Tuesday (Mar. 5) afternoon on the road. Young Harris held their own for most of the game, falling behind 5-3 after one period, but stayed in the game, going back and forth with the Cavs, matching their scores in the second and third periods. UVA Wise eventually pulled away in the fourth period, outscoring Young Harris 5-3 in the fourth, to take the game 17-13. 


Young Harris fell to 2-5 overall and 0-1 in Conference Carolinas play. UVA Wise advanced to 3-4 this season, and 0-2 in conference play. YHC returns to action at home on Saturday (Mar. 9) at noon, where they face off against the Lions from Emmanuel University. 


INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

  • Ashlyn Fraley scored six goals on 10 shots for the Mountain Lions, leading YHC in points and goals. 

  • Ella Hancock and Belle Hardwick each scored two goals and recorded three assists for five points each. 

  • Logan Davis and Noley Hiller both scored four goals to lead the Cavaliers to victory.
