YHC Picks Up Road Win at Converse, 81-72

Young Harris picks up a big road win against a solid Converse team, with a final score of 81-72. The Mountain Lions dominated the rebound game with 42 and capitalized on scoring opportunities.  


The Mountain Lions advance to 13-8 overall and are 7-4 in Conference Carolinas, while the Valkyries move to 12-7 overall and are 5-5 in Conference Carolinas. YHC travels to Lees-McRae this Saturday (Feb 3rd), where they will take on the Bobcats at 4pm. 


INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

  • Cole Deptula (23), Karl Chavis (21), and Carl Cleveland (15) led the Young Harris offense. Deptula finished 8-12 from FG and 3-4 from 3PT. 

  • Cameron Bleshoy recorded 10 boards this evening. 

  • Both teams were efficient in free throws, YHC nailing 75% and Converse hitting 79%. 

  • The Mountain Lion defense limited the Valkyries to a 7-30 from FG and 2-15 from 3PT in the 1st half.  

  • Uzziah Dawkins and C.J. Jamison were the offensive leaders for Converse, scoring 24 and 22 points respectively.
