Young Harris fell to the Trojans yesterday (Mar. 2) in extra innings, today YHC lost game one to UMO 6-0, before turning it around to win game two 4-1. Two completely different games, where the Trojans out hit the Mountain Lions 11 to three in game one; in game two, YHC flipped the script and out hit UMO 10 to four.
YHC moved to 14-4 overall this season and 4-2 in Conference Carolinas games; UMO moved to 10-5 and 5-1 in the conference. The Mountain Lions return home for their next series on Saturday (Mar. 9) afternoon at 2 p.m. versus Barton College, kicking off the series with a doubleheader.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
Game 1:
Mike Kenney of the Trojans recorded four RBIs, going 3-3 at the plate, and hitting a blast to left field to put UMO up 5-0 in the 2nd inning.
Drew Bray, Jaremy Begora, and Ethan Stamps were responsible for the three YHC hits.
Erik Johnson was dominant on the mound in the Trojans victory over Young Harris, pitching seven scoreless innings, striking out 11 batters, while giving up just three hits.
Game 2:
Zach Hart pitched five innings for Young Harris, recording four strikeouts and surrendering just one run. Dylan Beck came in and recorded his third save of the season, pitching four scoreless innings, while giving up just two baserunners.
YHC took advantage of the UMO errors in the game, scoring three runs on throwing errors and wild pitches.
Dylan Jeffries recorded two hits and was responsible for the Trojans lone run.
Jack Enrico went 3-5 at the plate and scored a run on a sacrifice fly hit by Jackson Kem
