The Mountain Lions women's tennis team lost to Catawba College on Wednesday (Mar. 13) afternoon, by a score of 3-4. Young Harris battled hard, but it was ultimately the Indians winning two doubles matches that was the deciding factor in the match.
YHC moved to 5-6 overall this season, and Catawba advanced to 7-2. The Mountain Lions return to play on Tuesday (Mar. 19), when they take on Lee University in Young Harris, Georgia.
INSIDE THE SCORE SHEET:
Luciana Bejarano and Viviana Gomez picked up a doubles victory for YHC, dominating Catawba College (6-0).
Simone Mercier (6-4, 0-6, and 10-8), Viviana Gomez (6-2 and 6-3), and Meghna Mallath (6-3 and 6-3) each picked up a singles point for the Mountain Lions.
The Mountain Lions and Indians each won three singles matches, but with Catawba taking two of three doubles matches, they earned four points and the victory over YHC.
