The Mountain Lions took to the road on Thursday (Mar. 21) afternoon and took on the Lee University Flames. The teams were neck and neck for the entire game, with the score tied at the end of the first half and regulation. With the game tied at 15, the two teams entered the overtime period, and less than two minutes in, Maggie Luzier scored the game-winner to take a 16-15 victory over Young Harris.
YHC falls to 4-6 overall and 1-1 in Conference Carolinas games. The Flames improved to 7-4 this season. The Mountain Lions get back to action quickly, as they play Barton College at noon in Young Harris, Georgia on Saturday (Mar. 23).
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
Ella Hancock continued her great season, scoring four goals and adding three assists for a total of seven points for the Mountain Lions.
Emily Flynt recorded eight draw controls, and Ella Hancock recorded seven draw controls to add to her school record amount of draw controls.
Maggie Luzier totaled six points on five goals and one assist for the Flames, with one of those goals coming in OT.
YHC went 0-3 in FPS chances, but the Flames did not squander their opportunities, going 5-7 on FPS chances; a big factor that led to the Flames win.
