Young Lady Jacket team continues to struggle

The Lady Yellow Jackets hosted Highlands Highschool on Friday, Dec. 9 in a varsity basketball showdown. After establishing dominance early, Highlands would keep control of the scoreboard all the way to a 50-25 win.

Hayesville was outsized and outgunned. The Lady Highlanders used their height advantage to snare the vast majority of rebounds and their sharpshooters seemed to be able find the bottom of the basket from any point on the floor.

After one quarter, the Lady Jackets found themselves down 19-5 and were never able to close within striking distance of the lead. The loss dropped Hayesville's record to 0-3 on the season.

Nothing would change the momentum of the season more than a win over their rivals. The Lady Jackets will have that chance on Tuesday, Dec. 13 when they host Murphy at 6 p.m.
