Sophomore Celine Brovold Sanne carded a 5-over 149 through 36 holes of play to lead the Georgia women’s golf team on day one of the Windy City Collegiate Classic on Monday.

The Bulldogs currently sit in 14th place at 34-over par. Georgia shot 17-over as a team in the first round, compiling another 17-over score before the second round was suspended due to darkness. Three Bulldogs completed all 36 holes while two will finish round two on Tuesday.
Brovold Sanne led the Bulldogs in each of the first two rounds to finish the day in a tie for 25th place at 5-over par. She carded two birdies in each of the first two rounds, shooting Georgia’s low-18 of the day with a +1 second round.
Sophomore Morgan Smith and graduate student Chantal El Chaib concluded day one at +8 and +9, respectively, and are tied for 48th and 54th. Smith has three holes left to play in the second round while El Chaib completed both of her rounds prior to suspension of play.
Brovold Sanne, Smith, and Emma Falcher all carded a 4-over 76 in the first round while El Chaib finished one stroke behind with a 5-over 77.
Falcher and senior Kate Song rounded out the field for the Bulldogs on day one of competition. Falcher carded a +12 through 33 holes of play while Song finished her first two rounds at +16.
