Clay County GOP news
The Clay County Republican Party will host its Annual Fall Picnic and Candidate Rally on Saturday, September 16th, at 12:00 Noon, at the Lions Club Pavilion on Lake Chatuge in the Clay County Recreation Park off Myers Chapel Road.
The Clay GOP will provide hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixins' (attendees are encouraged to bring side dishes, snacks, and desserts to share). Food will be served around 1:00 PM, followed by candidates' remarks at 2:00 PM. Once again, we'll have a "Silent Auction" with merchandise and services donated by local business for attendees to bid on. All proceeds to to support our new HQ and activities of the Clay GOP in the upcoming election (so please bring your checkbook and bid early and often!).
A list of Republican office holders and candidates who will be in attendance will be released later once appearances are confirmed.

**** CONGRESSMAN CHUCK EDWARDS AND THE "CAROLINA CRUISER" MOBILE OFFICE IN HAYESVILLE ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 29TH ***
We have received the following announcement from Congressman Chuck Edwards: "To give you greater access to your federal government, I’m excited to announce that my mobile office, the Carolina Cruiser, will be by the Historic Clay County Courthouse, 18 Herbert St., Hayesville, NC on Tuesday, August 29 from 12:45-2:15 p.m.My staff and I will be parked outside with the Carolina Cruiser ready to meet with constituents and assist with casework. I hope you can stop by to share your thoughts on issues that matter to you or ask for assistance with federal agencies."
The Clay GOP Headquarters Grand Opening Celebration, was held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 19th, attended by Rob Peck, Chair, Clay County Commissioners, along with Randy Nichols, Vice-Chair, and Commissioner Clay Logan. Also, Karl Gillespie, our GOP Represenative in the NC House, who was recently elected as the GOP Majority "Whip," attended and spoke to the group.
