Clay County Sheriff’s Office Welcomes New Deputy Nate Rogers

On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office proudly welcomed Nate Rogers as its newest Deputy Sheriff during a ceremony at Southwestern Community College (SCC). Sheriff Buchanan addressed the graduating class of SCC’s Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Class #91, where Rogers took his oath of office, marking the start of his law enforcement career.
A native of Clay County and a Marine Corps veteran, Deputy Rogers stood out as one of the top performers in his BLET class at SCC’s Public Safety Training Center. His dedication and skill earned high praise from the center’s staff. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office highlighted Rogers’ potential, noting that law enforcement is a family tradition, as evidenced by photos shared in their social media announcement.
“We are proud of Deputy Rogers and look forward to his unlimited potential as he begins his career at the Clay County Sheriff’s Office,” the department stated.
