Georgia Mountain Fire & Smoke Cooking Festival Set to Sizzle on May 17th

Get ready for a mouthwatering experience at the Georgia Mountain Fire & Smoke Cooking Festival on Saturday, May 17, 2025, starting at 9:00 AM at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. This culinary extravaganza, replacing the renowned GA Mountain Big Green Eggfest, promises to be bigger and better, featuring over 120 cooks and chefs showcasing their skills on 100 top-of-the-line Primo Ceramic Grills and Big Green Eggs.

Attendees with paid admission will enjoy generous samples of a diverse array of dishes, from savory barbecues to delectable desserts. The festival encourages interaction, allowing guests to engage with chefs, learn new recipes, and discover innovative cooking techniques. This one-of-a-kind event is a haven for food enthusiasts eager to explore gastronomic creativity.

The festival kicks off the evening before with a Meet & Greet celebration on Friday, May 16, at 5:00 PM in the antique farm museum at the Georgia Mountain Fair’s Main Exhibit Hall. Guests are invited to bring a dish to share or cook on a Primo Ceramic Grill while enjoying live bluegrass music from a local band. Beer and wine will be available for purchase, or attendees can bring their own beverages. Due to limited parking, a shuttle service will run continuously from the main parking areas to the Exhibit Hall.

Adding to the festivities, the acclaimed bluegrass band Appalachian Smoke will perform three 70-minute sets at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 2:00 PM on Saturday. Known for their authentic sound and original songwriting that celebrates Appalachian heritage, the band offers a perfect backdrop to relax with a cold beer, glass of wine, or beverage of choice while savoring the festival’s culinary delights.
