The John C. Campbell Folk School is making summer learning more accessible for local residents with its Summer Discount program, running now through Saturday, May 31, 2025, at noon. Residents of Cherokee, Clay, Macon, Swain, Jackson, and Graham counties in North Carolina, as well as Fannin, Gilmer, Towns, Rabun, and Union counties in Georgia, and Polk County in Tennessee, can enroll in a wide range of Folk School classes at half the cost.

This limited-time offer invites both newcomers and returning students to explore their creativity through hands-on courses in crafts like blacksmithing, spinning, and jewelry-making, or to dive into music, photography, cooking, and more. The Folk School’s diverse catalog ensures there’s something for everyone, making it the perfect opportunity to try a new skill or deepen a favorite hobby.

To take advantage of the discount, eligible residents must provide proof of local residency when creating a Configio account on the Folk School’s website. Once approved—a process that may take up to 48 hours—students gain access to register for qualifying classes at the discounted rate.

“Don’t miss out on this chance to make your summer unforgettable,” the Folk School shared in a recent social media post. “Whether you’re crafting, cooking, or playing music, there’s a class waiting for you.”

Interested residents are encouraged to act quickly, as the discount ends at noon on May 31. For more details and to apply, visit https://www.folkschool.org/programs/tuition-discount/.
