Patrol, K9 Lead To Drug Arrest

On Monday June 16th the Towns County Sheriff’s Office Drug Investigators, along with the Drug K9, Dargo, were conducting concentrated patrols in known drug areas.


During the patrol, a traffic stop was conducted and probable cause was developed to search the vehicle. During the search a container was located with an amount of fentanyl which field tested positive was confiscated.


Thomas Brandon Wooten, 35, of Hiawassee was arrested and charged with the following:

• Felony, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance

• Misdemeanor, Driving While License Suspended or Revoked

• Misdemeanor, Tail Lights Required


Sheriff Ken Henderson stated that our concentrated patrols will continue. Getting Fentyl, a very dangerous drug out of our community is very important. We will continue to keep our community safe.


All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
