BLAIRSVILLE, GA — The Union County Sheriff’s Office is set to host Scam and Fraud Awareness classes to educate the public on protecting themselves from common scams and fraudulent activities. The free sessions will take place at the Blairsville Public Library, located at 303 Hunt Martin Street, Blairsville, GA 30512, and are open to all community members.

The first class is scheduled for Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with a second session on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the same time. For those unable to attend the first date, the Sheriff’s Office encourages participation in the second session. “We want to ensure everyone has the opportunity to learn how to stay safe from scams,” said a representative from the office.

Important information will be presented by the Union County Sheriff’s Office and Tri-State Tech Support, offering valuable insights and practical tips to combat fraud. Sheriff Shawn Dyer emphasized the importance of these classes, noting the rising prevalence of scams targeting residents.

The events are free and open to the public, with no registration required. For additional details, residents can visit www.unioncountysheriff.org or contact the Sheriff’s Office at 706.439.6066. The office is located at 378 Beasley Street, Blairsville, Georgia 30512.

This initiative reflects the Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to community safety and education, providing residents with the tools to protect themselves in an increasingly digital world.
