YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — A 63-year-old man was arrested Sunday night in Towns County, Georgia, following a month-long drug investigation, authorities said.
James Eric Scott of Young Harris was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession and use of drug-related objects, according to the Towns County Sheriff’s Office.
Drug investigators received information on July 27, 2025, that Scott was in possession of drugs, prompting a search at a residence on Furman Gribble Road. The search yielded a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, along with drug-related paraphernalia, officials said.
Sheriff Ken Henderson praised the investigators and officers for their dedication to community safety and acknowledged the role of community tips in the arrest.
“Together, we are making a difference,” Henderson said.
Scott is currently in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
