Young Harris College second baseman Jonny Smith has been named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Freshman of the Month after an electric April at the plate that helped power the Mountain Lions to a 13-4 record. The rookie infielder batted .450 (27-for-60) across 17 starts, scoring 17 runs and driving in 23 more with six doubles, a triple, and three home runs. Smith posted an OPS north of 1.200, struck out just seven times, and drew nine walks to cap a month defined by consistency and production.

Smith delivered six multi-hit games and drove in multiple runs on five occasions, including a four-RBI showing against King and a three-hit, four-RBI effort at Emmanuel. His ability to hit for both average and power gave Young Harris a steady presence in the heart of the lineup and played a key role in the team's strong close to the regular season.
