Towns County Libraries Announce Free Summer Events for Hiawassee and Young Harris Communities

The Towns County Libraries in Hiawassee and Young Harris are gearing up for a vibrant summer with a series of free events for all ages, running from June 4 to July 17, 2025. Under the theme “Color Our World,” the libraries are hosting a variety of engaging programs to entertain and educate the community.
The summer lineup kicks off on Wednesday, June 4, at 10:30 AM with “Jeffini the Magician” at the Towns County Recreation Center, located at 150 Foster Park Rd, Young Harris. On Monday, June 9, at 11:00 AM, “Crescent Circus” will perform at the same venue, promising a morning of captivating entertainment.
The fun continues on Thursday, June 19, at 11:00 AM with “ZooPro Adventures” at Mayor’s Park in Young Harris, offering an interactive wildlife experience. On Thursday, June 26, at 11:00 AM, “Smithgall Woods – Animals Adapt” will take place at Mountain Regional Library in Young Harris, focusing on local wildlife adaptations. Then, on Monday, June 30, at 11:00 AM, “Rollins Planetarium” will bring the wonders of the cosmos to Young Harris College Campus.
July events include “Color Explosion at the Park” on Thursday, July 10, at 11:00 AM at Mayor’s Park in Hiawassee, followed by “Smithgall Woods – Snakes Alive!” on Thursday, July 17, at 11:00 AM at the same location, offering a hands-on look at snakes and their role in the ecosystem.
