Towns County Sheriff’s Office to Host Annual Firearms Qualification for Retired Law Enforcement Officers

YOUNG HARRIS, GA – The Towns County Sheriff’s Office will hold its Annual Firearms Qualification for Retired Law Enforcement Officers [HR218] on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Towns County Recreation Center. The event, led by Training Specialist Deputy Jeff McConnell, is designed to ensure retired officers maintain their firearms proficiency and stay updated on critical skills.
The program begins at 10:00 AM with a session on use of force and de-escalation instruction, providing essential training for retired officers. Following this, at 12:00 PM, participants will proceed to the range for the firearms qualification segment. Attendees are required to come prepared with Georgia P.O.S.T. requirements to participate.
