Traffic Stop Leads To Long List of Charges

On 3-06-2025, The Towns County Sheriff’s office Drug Investigators assisted the Georgia State Patrol on a traffic stop on HWY 66.


Probable cause was developed and a search of the vehicle resulted in confiscation of an amount of methamphetamine.


Christy Tallent, 37, of Young Harris was arrested and charged with:

• Felony, Possession Of Methamphetamine

• Felony, Possession Of A Schedule IV Controlled Substance X 2

• Misdemeanor, Sale, Distribution, or Possession of Dangerous Drugs

• Misdemeanor, DUI-Driving Under the Influence of Drugs

• Misdemeanor, Driving On The Wrong Side Of The Road

• Misdemeanor, Possession and use of Drug related Objects

• Misdemeanor, Drivers to Exercise Due Care

• Misdemeanor, Speeding

• Misdemeanor, Adult Restraint Law Seat Belt


Tallent is currently being held at the Towns County Detention Center with no bond.


All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
