Tri County Racetrack Hosts Combined Memorial Day and Mother’s Day Race After Rain Delays

Tri County Racetrack roared back into action on Friday, June 6, 2025, with a combined Memorial Day race and Mother’s Day event, rescheduled due to earlier rainouts. The evening’s festivities were briefly delayed by a passing storm front, but the show went on, delivering thrilling competition across multiple divisions.
In the 604 Crate Late Models 20-lap feature, Junior Whitener took the checkered flag from fourth place, followed by pole-sitter Jacob Parris in second. Dakota Green, Jacob McTaggart, and Evan Harrell rounded out the top five. Dante Curtis led wire-to-wire in the 25-lap Dirt Late Models race, with David McCoy and Barrett Lowe finishing second and third, respectively. James Nash, Clint Hodges, and Preston Crisp completed the top six.
The 602 Crate Late Models 25-lap feature saw Cooper Twiggs claim victory from fourth, with Dylan Beaver and Michael Barnett in second and third. Chris Woods and Ricky Smith finished fourth and fifth. Christopher Kane dominated the Front Wheel Drives 25-lap race from the pole, with Shannon Jones and Phillip Hall taking second and third. John Summerville and Logan Exum followed in fourth and fifth.
Matt Sandefur swept the Modifieds 15-lap race from the pole, ahead of Gabe Wilson and Brawley Stillwell. Dillon Daves and Bronson Newton rounded out the top five. In the Street Stocks 15-lap feature, Charles Devine emerged victorious from third, with Dylan Hannah and Matt Whitener in second and third. Allen Vaughn and Carson Shields completed the top five. Zack Meinders led the Crown Vic 15-lap race from the pole, with Jim Exum and Chance Watson finishing second and third, followed by Josh Deese and Zackery Beach.
The combined event honored both Memorial Day and Mother’s Day, drawing a resilient crowd that braved the weather delay. Fans can look forward to the Father’s Day celebration race set for June 13th.
