BLARISVILLE, GA – The Union County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO) Narcotics Division arrested two Blairsville residents following a traffic stop on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. The arrests took place around 12:30 a.m. near Pleasant Hill Road and Murphy Highway, where deputies conducted the stop.

Roy Lynn Byers, 48, (left) and Coy Lee Dockery, 54, (right) were taken into custody without incident based on outstanding warrants. The warrants stemmed from an investigation involving controlled drug purchases. While no drugs were found in the vehicle, a search at Byers’ residence led to additional evidence and charges.

Byers is facing five felony counts of selling methamphetamine, along with charges of felony possession of a Schedule IV drug and multiple misdemeanors related to marijuana and drug-related items. Dockery has been charged with felony sale and distribution of methamphetamine.

Both individuals were on probation at the time of their arrest and are currently being held without bond at the Union County Jail.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to combating illegal drug activity and protecting community safety. Sheriff Shawn Dyer and the UCSO Narcotics Division will continue to pursue those who distribute dangerous substances in the county through thorough investigations and enforcement efforts.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
