A milestone moment unfolded today as Union County Elementary School marked its official ribbon cutting, heralding a new chapter for education in the community. The state-of-the-art facility, set to welcome students in August 2025, stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of dedicated individuals and organizations committed to the future of local children.

The ceremony celebrated the collective vision and hard work of key contributors, including the Union County Board of Education, Superintendent Hill, and UCS Facilities Director Mike Patton. Their leadership, alongside the expertise of GADOE Facilities and Pupil Transportation Director Mike Sanders, Charles Black Construction, and Breaux & Associates, brought this ambitious project to life. Faculty and staff were also recognized for their unwavering dedication to shaping a nurturing environment for students.

The true heart of the project, however, lies in the community’s steadfast support. “Thank you to our wonderful community for your continued support for our children,” the school district expressed in a heartfelt statement. This sentiment underscores the shared commitment to providing students with a modern, inspiring space to learn and grow.

While the building itself is complete, it will truly become a school when its doors open to students next August. Union County Elementary School promises to be a beacon of opportunity, fostering academic excellence and community pride for years to come.
