Hiawassee Town Square Park will come alive on Saturday, May 31, 2025, with a free concert featuring the Whiskey Mountain Band. The event, part of the long-running Music on The Square series, will run from 6:30 to 8:00 PM on Main Street. Donations are appreciated to support the continuation of this community tradition, now in its 26th year.

The Whiskey Mountain Band, known for their high-energy performances, will bring a mix of classic rock, dance tunes, blues, and country to the stage. Formed in a cabin on Whiskey Mountain overlooking Lake Chatuge, the band has honed a distinctive sound that resonates with audiences across north Georgia and western North Carolina, where they perform regularly.

This family-friendly event invites attendees to bring chairs or blankets for comfort. Well-behaved pets are welcome, provided owners clean up after them. Starting at 6:00 PM, the VFW Auxiliary Food Truck will serve grilled hot dogs and other fare, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The concert series owes its longevity to community support and sponsors, including the City of Hiawassee, Banister-Cooper Funeral Home, Barrett Insurance, Service Master Restoration, and the Hiawassee Downtown Development Authority. In case of rain at concert time, the event will be canceled.
