The Hayesville High School Lady Yellow Jackets soccer team has faced a challenging 2025 season in the Smoky Mountain 1A Conference, entering their final scheduled match with a 1-8-1 overall record and a 1-7-1 conference standing, placing them sixth in the league.
The Lady Yellow Jackets kicked off their season on March 5 with a tough 10-1 home loss to Highlands. Their road games proved equally difficult, with losses to Cherokee (4-2), Murphy (9-0), Blue Ridge Early College (3-2), and Swain County (10-0). Their lone victory came on March 13 against Tri-County, where they secured a 4-1 win on the road. At home, the team struggled, falling to Towns County (9-0), Cherokee (5-0), and Murphy (8-0), and managing a 1-1 tie against Tri-County on April 22. The team has scored 10 goals while conceding 60, reflecting the defensive challenges faced throughout the season.
Despite the setbacks, the Lady Yellow Jackets showed resilience, particularly in their win against Tri-County and their competitive draw at home. The team will host Blue Ridge Early College (2-9) on April 28 at 4:00 p.m. in a conference matchup at Hayesville High School.
