On Wednesday, Oct. 2, Hayesville High School welcomed the Lady Braves from Cherokee for a Smoky Mountain Conference volleyball showdown. Cherokee's varsity squad entered the contest with a 15-1 record, while the Lady Jackets sat at 10-4.
The Lady Jackets came out of the gate strong in the opening set, but Cherokee found their groove and powered to a win in set 1. The Lady Braves kept the momentum for a 3-0 sweep.

Fortunately for Hayesville fans, the JV Lady Jackets had a much better outcome. Hayesville was able to get off to a great start on their way to a match-win.

On Thursday, Oct.3rd, the team from Hayesville Middle School will join to the two high school teams on the road as all three teams travel to Robbinsville to take on the Lady Black Knights. The actions starts at 4 p.m. with the middle school contest. JV is scheduled for 5 p.m. with varsity following at 6 p.m.
