The Hayesville High School wrestling team showcased their dominance at the "Battle of the Belt" event in Murphy on Friday, January 17, securing victories over Franklin High School and Murphy High School to claim the championship.


The following day, the Yellow Jackets traveled to Robbinsville to compete in the prestigious James Orr Memorial Tournament, which featured 22 schools from across the region. Hayesville wrestlers delivered strong performances against tough competition.


Senior Andrew Reynolds earned an impressive third-place finish in the highly competitive 157-pound weight class. In the junior varsity division, Hayden Hunt claimed first place in the 150-pound weight class, demonstrating his skill and determination. Parker Hughes secured a second-place finish in the 106-pound class, while CJ Finn battled hard to achieve a fourth-place finish in the 126-pound class.


Hayesville's wrestling team continues to build on their success and looks forward to upcoming challenges as they strive for further excellence on the mat.
